Every mature organization needs to step back periodically to consider: is every aspect of our organization the best it can be? One aspect that is difficult to tackle and modernize is policy governance. Policies just seem to expand and grow organically as the organization matures, until they begin to resemble a monster with many tentacles. I am looking to hack away the irrelevant detail to arrive at a simple set of logical, principle-based policies supported by a robust governance framework. Ours is a global organization, so this will not be an easy task. I'm looking to recruit an experienced Canadian corporate policy expert to advise me on this process.
